About Aure's Notes
Hey, I’m Auré, a 20-something writer from Belgium.
I started this website with the desire to tell people about the things I wish I knew when I was younger.
It has now transformed into my personal Wikipedia where I curate and share everything valuable I learn every day.

About
I grew up wanting to become a comedian then quit at 23 years-old when I realized it wasn’t for me. After a few years of soul-searching, I reinvented myself as a marketer and online writer when I built my first blog in February 2020. I have been writing online since then.

I have also invented the terms “relational determinism“, which promotes the idea that our relationships (friends, parents, partners, but also to animals, the environment, God(s), etc) determine, for the most part, the course of our lives.
And I invented the term “progradiction” which is defined as “the compulsion of moving forward in life”.
This blog is free and ad-free.

How to Use Aure's Notes
The section summaries contains summaries of books and videos.
The section articles hosts all of the articles I have written.
The section resources hosts how-to guides as well as directories of websites, books, Youtube channels, newsletters, podcasts, people, and tips and tricks on various topics.
The section Billionaire Series is a series of twenty one articles that analyze and deconstruct how billionaires started, grew, and scaled their companies.
Finally, the podcast is me interviewing people that build stuff (entrepreneurs, scientists, creators, etc).
Visual and Non-Visual Glossary
“<” means “is smaller/worse than”. Eg: Vegan diet < keto diet. Translation: vegan is worse than keto.
“>” means “is bigger/better than”.
“X” means “time” as in an equation. 3 X 5 = 15.
I use the 00h00 to 23h59 European time system.
5h00 is 5am, 15h00 is 3pm. 00h00 is midnight, and 12h00 is lunch time.
There are a series of terms I cannot write or I may be deplatformed by G-00-gL€. So I write them in a different way.
That big country in the east that invented gun powder, for example, is written as Ch!n@.
When something is important, I put it in bold or in giant quote. When something is capital, I put it in red (unless otherwise specified).

Does the Website Make Money, and if Yes, How?
The website itself makes about €15/month thanks to a combination of affiliate marketing links and sales on Gumroad. It costs me more money to run than I make out of it.
What makes the most money is what I write on Medium, anywhere between $200 to $500 per month.
Finally, people have made donations on my Buy me a Coffee page.
Why isn’t the website more monetized?
Because its purpose has never been to earn money, but to learn SEO, content writing, copywriting, web design, email marketing, sales funnels, and product-making.
It has worked surprisingly well, reaching 20,000 viewers/month after only 19 months. It’s been jumping up and down since, going as low as 12,000 users/month as high as 25,000, without me doing or changing anything.
SEO can be unpredictable.
Why Write if it Makes no Money?
It doesn’t make any money directly but it does indirectly. It helps me showcase my experience, improve my skills, and it’s still a great platform to sell stuff.
Secondly, I enjoy it. Maybe it will change in the future but right now, I like it. I like it a little too much. I’d like to read more and write less but I prefer writing over reading. I prefer writing over almost everything else in life. It’s dangerous, life can pass by in the meantime.
I also like the idea of making an impact on people’s lives. I think writing online is a bit like being a rockstar.
You get massive amounts of validation and it just feels good.
It’s nice to share with others the things I am interested in.
How Is the Website Built?
The website is built on WordPress.
My hosting company is Hostinger and I’m modestly happy with it.
The theme of the website is OceanWP (free) but I built the landing page with Elementor (free).
The only plugin I pay for is WP Rocket, but you should probably use FlyingPress instead.
Why Don't I Show my Picture?
I got recognized after writing a viral article and I didn’t like it at all so no more pictures.
